The Calanques National Park, a true paradise in the heart of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, is renowned for the beauty of its landscapes, its exceptional biodiversity and its cultural heritage. With a vast area of 8,500 hectares, its earthy heart is distributed over three communes, namely: Marseille, Cassis and La Ciotat, while its marine core is 43,500 hectares. The only national park in Europe that is both terrestrial, marine and peri-urban, it is home to an incredible biodiversity of almost 140 protected terrestrial animal and plant species, as well as over 60 marine heritage species!

The mosaic of jewels this magnificent area possesses attracts visitors who love discovery and hiking. Its scenery is absolutely unique, with its massive coastline riddled with streams, its underwater canyon and numerous islands, including the one that houses the famous Chateau d’Ife, a sixteenth-century fortress.

Along the way, you will be amazed by the grandeur of these limestone cliffs plunging into the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The Calanques of Devenson, En Vau, Morgiu, Sormiou or Sougitona, to name but a few, are magnificent examples.
