Local beaches are numerous, diverse and can satisfy the needs of almost any traveler.

The beaches in the city limits are well landscaped and equipped with everything necessary for civilized rest – from changing cabins and sun beds with umbrellas (from 5-16 EUR depending on the season) to coastal cafes and paid parking lots.

One of the most popular beaches is Prado. It is spread over 20 hectares, including green areas, picnic areas and emergency stations. In season, lifeguards are on duty on the beach. The sea is shallow and suitable for swimming with children, although not everyone will like the fine pebbles.

Boreli beach is suitable for those who prefer sand. It is divided into two parts – on the public territory there is a volleyball court and a children’s playground, and the second half of the beach belongs to coastal restaurants, where you can combine lunch and rest by the sea at a reasonable price (as a rule, the cost of beach equipment is included in the restaurant bill). This is the best option for those who can’t stand the hustle and bustle of municipal beaches.

Bonven beach is good for swimming with children, both because of the shallow bottom near the shore and the nearby skate park.

The very picturesque Uvon beach has long been favored by surfers because of the configuration of the shores there are often strong winds.

Finally, lovers of silence, untouched nature and crystal-clear sea will perfectly fit the famous Marseille calanques – a chain of secluded rocky bays to the south of the city. It is only necessary to take into account that you will have to walk for about an hour to reach the places convenient for swimming. It is also worth stocking up on food and drink – there is no tourist infrastructure in those places.
