Provence is a French language newspaper published in Marseille , France.

History and profile

In 1997 Provence was created in Marseilles from the merger of two daily newspapers, The Provençal of the Interior Minister Gaston Defferre and the Meridional of shipowner and congressman, Jean Alfred Fraissinet .

Provence was jointly owned by the Hersant Media Group and the Bernard Tapie Group until July 2013 when the latter became the sole owner of the paper. [1] [2] The publisher of the paper is Hachette Filipacchi Medias , a subsidiary of Lagardère . [3]
