Theatres in MarseilleSome of the places we have found to see live theatre in MarseilleLe MerlanAvenue Raimu Marseille (buses 32 and 34 to stop Méimée-Corot), presents theatre and dance, also has a cinema club. Website (in French) is here. La Criée30 Quai Rive Neuve (metro line 1 Vieux Port) theatre and music, including jazz. The website (in French) is here. Théâtre de la Lenche4 Place de La Lenche (metro line 1 Vieux Port and head for the Panier), a smaller theatre with more of a community theatre atmosphere. The website (in French) is here. Friche de la Belle de Mai41 Rue Jobin (bus 49 to stop Jobin-Pautrier), a community arts centre that presents a whole range of music, theatre, exhibitions. See the website (in French) here. Théâtre Toursky16 Promenade Leo Ferré (bus 89), a theatre that also presents music concerts and has an annual Russian theatre and music festival. It also has a café and a restaurant so you can eat at a reasonable price of 15€ after a performance. The website (in French) is here. Théâtre Gymnase4 rue du Théâtre Francais, just off the Canebière (metro 2 Noailles, tram 2 Garibaldi). This is a more "establishment" theatre. It is twinned with the Jeu de Paume in Aix.
